PREGNANCY MASSAGE
During pregnancy there are many challenges and changes placed on our bodies as we grow and shift to accommodate a growing baby (and uterus). Massage therapy can help to ease these discomforts and can aid in preparing the body for labour.
Here are some of the complaints that can be addressed with Massage Therapy while you are pregnant;
-postural shifts to accommodate the baby and your new body weight can place stress on different muscles
-constipation
-hip, rib and back pain
-pelvic pain ( can often be caused by uterine ligaments as the baby grows and shifts)
-pubic symphysis pain
-incontinence
-heartburn/acid reflux
-breathlessness
-leg and calf cramping
-sciatic pain
POST NATAL MASSAGE
Just when you thought the journey was over we meet the post pregnancy body. After all of the changes that have taken place, now our body has to adapt to not carrying a baby(on the inside). As our body starts to shift back to "normal", we can experience a new set of changes and challenges in our body.
-upper back and neck pain from carrying a new baby/breastfeeding
-incontinence
-pelvic pain (dyspareunia, SI joint dysfunction, tailbone pain)
-scarring from cesarian section
-diastasis recti
-constipation
